Noble friends, Especially A&S Mavens,

Today the BBC features a story on a woman who has been embroidering a
nearly exact replica of the Bayeau Tapestry.

Mia Hannson of Wisbech in Cambridgeshire began the project in 2016. She
hopes to finish the single-handed project in 2027 when the original will
return to France after being on loan in the U.K. The original is 70 meters
long, and Mia has completed over 55 meters of her replica.

She says she hates chain mail.

If Mia isn't a Scadian, we need to recruit her! 😉

The story is found here: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crmd3dw98p3o .

In another recent Bayeau Tapestry story, University of Bristol history
professor Benjamin Paul the notion that the tapestry might have been
displayed in a monastic refectory for the contemplation of the noshing
monks. Well maybe.
