*Proposed Kingdom Law Changes for King Afshin and Queen Yasmin.*

Unto Your Majesties King Afshin and Queen Jasmin, Your Highnesses Prince
Ragnarr and Princess Mary Isobel, and the good populace of Atlantia,
Greetings from Maistir Cian, Kingdom Seneschal.

Their Majesties have proposed some new law changes and wish to hold a Curia
Regis to discuss them before implementing them into law.  The Curia Regis
will be online, and will be held on Sunday, June 25th at 6:00 PM EDT.

Per Kingdom Law, the members of Curia Regis are:

·         The victor and consort of Crown Tournament of Atlantia

·         All Territorial Barons and Baronesses

·         All Great Officers of State

·         All Officers of State

·         All Branch Seneschals



Only the members of the Curia Regis may speak at Curia, but the populace is
invited and encouraged to come and listen.  If anyone has questions or
concerns about the proposed law changes, they should reach out to their
Branch Seneschal to pass those on at Curia.



The proposed law changes are:



Their Majesties wish to have 2 new awards added to the Kingdom Award
structure.  Both are group awards, much in the same line as the Vexillum
Atlantiae.

*B.1.9 The Order of the Golden Elephant honors and recognizes a group of
individuals for their Excellence in Service to the Kingdom of Atlantia.*

*B.1.10 The Order of the Golden Lamp honors and recognizes a group of
individuals for their Excellence in the Arts and Sciences to the Kingdom of
Atlantia.*

Their Majesties wish to change the way that the University Chancellor is
selected, due to the timeline of how Universities are planned and prepared.
The University Chancellor is an Officer of State and follows the normal
Officer of State selection procedure as laid out in Kingdom Law.  This law
change adds a Deputy University Chancellor and changes the way the
Chancellor and Deputy Chancellor are selected to give them a training and
transition period before fully assuming office.

* 5.1.3 The University Chancellor Officer of State application and
changeover process shall be as follows:*

·         *Eight months prior to the end of the current term of the Current
University Chancellor, advertisement of the open position(s), University
Chancellor and Deputy University Chancellor shall be published by the
Kingdom Minister of Arts and Sciences.*

·         *The application period will be available for at least 30 days
and no more than 60 days.*

·         *Applications shall be sent to the Crowns, the Crown Heirs, the
Kingdom minister of Arts and Sciences, and the current University
Chancellor.*

·         *The Crown Heirs, with consultation from the Crown, the current
University Chancellor, and the Kingdom Minister of Arts and Sciences, will
select and announce the next University Chancellor and Deputy University
Chancellor no less than 6 months from the position changeover.*

·

*The chosen candidates (Primary and Deputy) will then immediately join
University staff as a Deputy to the KMOAS as Chancellor-Select and Deputy
Chancellor-Select, training with the University Chancellor until the
changeover date. *

*5.2.1  **The Atlantia University Chancellor will be installed at a Royal
Court after 6 months serving as Chancellor-Select and before the following
University session. The Deputy Chancellor-Select shall be installed as
Deputy University Chancellor as a drop-dead backup or successor in the
event of the unforeseen resignation of the Chancellor-Select*

The following changes were requested by the Kingdom Seneschal to change the
designation of the Kingdom Calendar Coordinator to the Kingdom Calendar
Deputy, and to change Event Registration Requirements references from the
Kingdom Seneschal’s Policies to the Kingdom Chronicler’s Policies, which is
where they are located.

Coordinator*” to “*Kingdom Calendar Deputy*”.

Under “*7.1 Event Registration Requirements*” – Change all references to
the “*Kingdom Seneschal’s Policy*” to the “*Kingdom Chronicler’s Policy*”
