Fair Atlantia,
The University of Atlantia is one of the most successful, inclusive, and
empowering programs available to us in the SCA. Our University program has
led the way in online learning, hybrid events, accessibility and serving
the SCA wide community in the SCA mission of education.

The Chancellor of the University of Atlantia is a key leader in making this
program happen. Since January 2022, our beloved Ollamh Jeane Kilmeny has
served in that role with great success. Her retirement from this role is
set to be Twelfth Night 2024. Therefore, we are continuing to seek the next
Chancellor.

Per new changes expected in kingdom law, the new Chancellor must be chosen
with a time period of 6 months to allow for training. Therefore, the
current deadline for applications for University of Atlantia Chancellor is
5 July 2023 at 11:59pm US Eastern Time.  To apply, please send a letter of
intent, including applicable SCA and modern day experience in program
management to Atlantia’s Crown, Heirs, University Chancellor, and Kingdom
MOAS.  SCA and modern day resumes are welcome but not required.  Email

University Chancellor Job Opening Announcement:
The University of Atlantia is led by a Chancellor, and our current
Chancellor, Ollamh Jeane Kilmeny / Dominica Campbell, is stepping down at
Twelfth Night, January 2024. Citizens of Atlantia are encouraged to
consider applying to serve as the new Chancellor of the University of
Atlantia!

The Chancellor’s duties include the following:
--Term of service is 2 years (different from the other Officers of State
who have 3 year terms) with option to serve an additional two year term.
--Term of service will include 6 additional months as Chancellor -Select to
engage in training under the current Chancellor.
--Leading the University of Atlantia Program including staff (currently at
13 people), a custom registration website, internal Google Drive resources,
YouTube channel, Social Media accounts, and three annual University
sessions.
--Coordinating with the Kingdom Event Bid Committee for in-person event
sites for the June and September sessions of University
--Coordinating with the Registrar for granting University degrees
--Coordinating University resources to provide online components of each
session
--Recruiting new staff
--Overseeing training new staff
--Maintaining and updating governance documents
--Work at resolving conflicts as needed
--Reporting to the KMOAS regularly including at least 3 after-session
reports
--Must already be a Fellow of the University per Appendix 6 Kingdom Law.

The Chancellor of the University of Atlantia is an Atlantia Officer of
State and a Deputy of the KMOAS. The Chancellor is selected by the Heirs of
Atlantia’s Crown after consultation with Atlantia’s Crown, Kingdom Minister
of Arts and Sciences, and the current Chancellor. The Chancellor Select is
determined and announced no less than 6 months before the end of the
current Chancellor’s term.

A Deputy Chancellor is also chosen in the same way, at the same time, and
serves as an Emergency Backup Deputy to the Chancellor. The Deputy
Chancellor is expected to fulfill the duties of the Chancellor if the
Chancellor is unable to serve during a temporary absence and fully serve as
Chancellor if the Chancellor leaves the position before the end of their
term.

Candidates are encouraged to apply for Chancellor by writing a letter of
intent, including applicable SCA and modern day experience in program
management, and send it to Atlantia’s Crown, Heirs, University Chancellor,
and Kingdom MOAS.  SCA and modern day resumes are welcome but not required.
Time Frame for sending in Letters of Intent for your applications:

Position applications acceptance officially opened 19 MAY 2023.
Position applications acceptance officially closes 5 July 2023 at 11:59pm
US Eastern Time.
This time frame offers 47 days for acceptance of applications. This is
within the scope expected to be made law in the upcoming Curia on June 25.
