Noble Friends,

Today the BBC has a brief feature on a royal Welsh administrative site
which as been bought for preservation by Cadw (the Welsh historic trust).

*Llys Rhosyr* was used by Llwelyn Fawr (aka Prince Llewelyn "The Great")
who ruled Gwynedd in the 13th century. The site was abandoned after conquer
monkey Edward I (Boo! Hiss!) completed his take over of Wales in 1282.

A conjectural replica of *Llys Rhosyr *has been built at St. Fagans, a
Welsh living history park. What Cadw bought for £17,000 is the real deal,
though it is mostly just the foundations.

The BBC story, including of how the site might have looked, is found at
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-65197383 .

More about Llewelyn is at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Llywelyn_the_Great .

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
