Noble Friends, Especially Vikings:

Today the History Blog reports on the donation of several pieces of early
Viking jewelry and accessories to a Norse museum.

The finds consist of a necklace, bracelet and two brooches and are
thought to date from the 9th century. The pieces may, or may not, have come
from a female in a boat grave discovered in 1955 at Frafjord. The grave
contained other goods, but was devoid of jewelry. Sadly the jewelry pieces
have now lost their context.

The illustrated story is at http://www.thehistoryblog.com/archives/64608 .

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
