Noble Friends,

Today the History Blog reports on the discovery of a complete medieval
kitchen in Nový Jičín, a town in the Czech Republic's Moravia region.

The kitchen was discovered under a private home in an archaeological survey
pending renovations. It was fully stocked with pots, utensils, and a grate.
The kitchen shows evidence of a fire, and was possibly abandoned when Nový
Jičín was burned by Hussites in 1427.

For photos and the story see http://www.thehistoryblog.com/archives/64846 .

Nový Jičín still has a castle, many 16th century buildings, and portions of
its defensive walls. Wikipedia offers a brief page with photos at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nový_Jič%C3%ADn

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
