Noble Friends,

We've probably all thought about what it is like to live in a castle, but
Megan Clawson is living that dream in what may be the ultimate medieval
castle, the Tower of London.

In a BBC story posted yesterday, the daughter of a Yeoman Warder (a
"Beefeater") talks about her experiences as a resident of the Tower. This
charming piece is not exactly a medieval story, but probably most readers
will greatly enjoy it anyway:
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-58979105 .

The story is well worth reading for the part about the Henry VIII
gnome figure in the toilet. [Ha! Got your attention with that one, eh?]

A story that I completely missed last spring was the birth of two raven
chicks at the tower. The female hatchling was to be named by public choice
(the male was named Edgar after you-know-who of Raven fame):

know the result, go to

visit the section "Meet our Ravens".

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
