Noble Friends, Especially Fellow Scots:

Today the BBC features a reconstruction of the Pictish fort at Burghead in
Moray. This fortified town was occupied between 500 and 1000 CE. It has
been excavated over the past five years by teams from the University of
Aberdeen. The digital reconstruction was made by the University of Dundee
and a private imaging firm. The story is found here:
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-59121017 .

An earlier story showing some of the artifacts from the Burghead excavation
is found at
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-40709112 .

More on the Pictish Burghead fort is on Wikipedia at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burghead_Fort .

The Burghead has a visitors centre with its own web pages at
http://www.burghead.com/burghead-fort/ . The site includes a page on the
mysterious dark ages Burghead Well.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
