[MR] History Blog: Ghent Altarpiece Returns to Saint Bavo's

Today the History Blog reports on the restoration and return of the Van
Eyck Ghent Altarpiece to display in Saint Bavo's Cathedral, Ghent.

The altarpiece, more properly known as The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb,
has just been through seven years of scientific study, conservation and
restoration. It is now protected by a climate controlled bullet proof
display case, which alone cost $35m.
