Noble Friends, Especially Vikings:

Today the History Blog's feature is about a puzzling double 9th century
burial in Denmark uncovered in 1981. One occupant of the grave was a
middle-aged woman who had been covered with large stones. The other was a
younger man who had been bound and hanged. Now DNA testing has revealed
they were mother and son.

Ancient Viking Sagas have revealed possible identities of the pair, or at
least a similar story. They could be a woman named Katla and her son Odd.
It is a tale of horse theft, sorcery, revenge and lots of murders. Lady
Livius, the History Blog's presenter, dishes us the juicy bits at
http://www.thehistoryblog.com/archives/59770 .

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
