[MR] Smithsonian Channel: Program on 16th C. Ships

Noble Friends, Especially Fellow Ship Geeks,

Tonight the Smithsonian Channel's program "Combat Ships" will air an
episode titled "Galleons and Privateers". The blurb says this will discuss
the revolutionary design changes that made Drake and other captains so
successful, especially against the Spanish Armada. The blurb doesn't say
specifically, but these ships were known as "race galleons" for their speed
and maneuverability. They could almost sail rings around the Spanish.

The program is one hour long, and is scheduled to air tonight at 8:00. Like
most Smithsonian Channel programs, it will probably be repeated throughout
the following week (except the ones I really want to watch!).
