Noble Friends,

Today the BBC has an interesting piece on Château de Chambord, one of the
most iconic French castles. Built for Francis I beginning in 1520, the
castle has a striking resemblance to ideas in Da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus,
especially its famous double-helix stairway. The debate continues over who
was Chambord's actual architect, but it seems clear that it incorporates
many of Da Vinci's ideas.

The whole illustrated piece is found at

More on Chambord is found at

Thank Lady Sarah Sinclair for noting this story.

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
