Noble Friends,
Today the BBC is offering a text and photo story on the Hanseatic League.
The League was a somewhat fluid collection of trading ports and some inland
cities across northern Europe that joined together in mutual trade from the
14th to the 17th century. The League promoted standardized weights and
measures, and had a reputation for honest business.
Author Chris Morris visits several League cities for his story, and
includes a number of interesting period illustrations, as well as photos of
surviving buildings. Pay special attention to the costumes in the period
illustrations (great caps/bonnets), as well as some interesting re-enactor
musicians. Enjoy the show at

Yours Aye,
