Noble Friends, Especially Vikings,

Today the History Blog is reporting the find of a 8-9th century Viking
brooch at Varja, Estonia.

The brooch is box-shaped, and is very rare from Estonian sites. It is
however, similar to Gotland brooches of the same period, suggesting a link
between the two areas.

The story and photos can be found at

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
