Noble Friends, Especially Lovers of Arthurian Tales

Recently a "new" version of the Arthurian Lancelot-Grail Cycle was
discovered hiding in another ancient book in the Bristol Central Library.
The French text predates Malory's version, and is different from other
known versions of the Lancelot-Grail Cycle.

The seven handwritten parchment pages were apparently reused as fly-leaves
in an unrelated book, the works of the 15th century French scholar Jean
Gerson. They were "hiding in plain site", so to speak.

The History Blog has an excellent summary of the find and its significance
at http://www.thehistoryblog.com/archives/54161 . The BBC also covered the
story at https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-bristol-47062919 .

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
