Noble Friends,

Today Wikipedia's featured article is "Gothic Boxwood Miniatures". This is
a fascinating article about a rare 15-16th century art form. These are tiny
carved wooden devotional items, many 4-5 inches in size, which open like
lockets to reveal amazingly detailed scenes from the Bible. Nearly all
surviving examples are made from boxwood. Approximately 150 of the
miniatures, sometimes called "prayer nuts", survive in museums.

The article, with numerous illustrations, is at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_boxwood_miniature .

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
