Noble Friends,
Here's one for the odd box! According to the BBC, archaeologists are agog
over the grave of a porpoise found on a small island off Guernsey. The
animal is thought to have been buried in the 15th century, possibly to
preserve it for food (think Chinese "ancient eggs"). There are records of
porpoises being eaten in the Channel Islands.
