Noble Friends, Especially Fellow Scots,
Yesterday the BBC featured a story about an excavation at the site of a
Pictish fort near Burghead, Scotland, including a possible longhouse. Among
the treasures found were decorated pins, a bronze ring, coins, and food
remains. Since the Picts left no written records, the site is especially
valuable for understanding these mysterious people. The fort was burned,
likely in a fire set by Vikings when they trashed the place in the 10th
century:

The current story references an earlier article from when the excavation
began in 2017:

Yours Aye,
