Noble Friends, Especially Heavy Fighters,

On this day in 1351 the "Combat of the Thirty" was fought during the Breton
War of Succession, a sideshow of the Hundred Years Wars. Thirty knights,
squires and men-at-arms from the English-allied Montfort faction faced an
equal number from the French-allied Blois faction in a *pas-d-armes*.
Although this was organized like a tournament, it was deadly business.

You can find out who won at

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
