Noble Friends,

Today the BBC has an illustrated feature on the hunt for two warships that
sank in 1512 off the coast of Brittany. The ships were the English carrick
Regent and the French ship Cordeliere. The two ships were locked together
when one or the other blew up, dragging both to the bottom. So far, the
expedition has found a another ship, an unarmed cog, but the warships
remain elusive.

This is a story to watch. If the ships can be found and salvaged, they may
yield a treasure trove of fascinating artifacts that will rival the Mary
Rose find.

The story is at https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44806083 .

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
