Noble Friends,

Today the BBC is offering a brief video tour of Hereford Cathedral's
chained library. Although the library was built in 1611, it remains in
nearly original condition, and many of the manuscripts date to the medieval
period. Chained libraries were a feature of many abbeys, cathedrals and
universities from our period, so this delightful video is relevant to
Scadians:

As a retired librarian, I was in heaven for a few minutes.

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
