Noble Friends, Especially Fellow Archers:

Today the BBC has a brief illustrated story about the Ancient Society of
Kilwinning Archers. This Scottish group continues a tradition dating to
the late 15th century of shooting a papingo (or to us, a popinjay) hung
from the local church tower: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-41612817 .

Scotland's other traditional archery society is the Royal Company of
Archers, which provides the Sovereign's Bodyguard for Scotland. The
Royal Company of Archers only dates to the late 1600s, but shall we say
shoots above its weight in prestige:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Company_of_Archers .

of Archers go to

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge
Who Shoots a "Real" Bow ;-)
