Today the BBC reported that the Nottingham women who portrayed the 
city's "official" Maid Marion for 12 years has died. Sally Pollard 
passed away from breast cancer yesterday. Ms. Pollard was married to 
Nottingham's "official" Robin Hood, Tom Pollard:
