Noble Friends,

While sort of out of our period, you might find this BBC story
interesting. Retired professor Peter Field claims to have discovered the
location of King Arthur's Camelot. He has identified a Roman fort at
Slack in West Yorkshire as the location, partly based on the Roman name
for the site, Camulodunum:
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-north-west-wales-38330272 .

Whether Professor Field is correct or not, the Roman fort at Slack is
well known. Wikipedia offers this page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slack_Roman_Fort . Here is an aerial view
which shows how the fort may have been laid out (of course, in typical
English fashion, part of the site is now under a car park):

Yours Aye,
