So why did Alan of Galloway, Constable of Scotland, sign Magna Carta?
Given the interrelations between Scotland and England, and that Normans
were settled in both countries, it perhaps not surprising. King David I
of Scotland parceled out a lot of lands in Galloway to Norman knights in
the hope they would tame this very troublesome region. To read more
