Noble Friends,

If you are tired of Richard III, here is an interesting story with a "happy ending" (pun intended).

The Bayeux Tapestry as we know it is incomplete. A piece of it apparently was damaged/lost/removed for political reasons (take your pick). After a year work 416 folks on Alderney (one of those odd Channel Islands in spitting distance of France that still belong to England) have recreated the final section. It shows William the Conqueror being crowned and the construction of the Tower of London: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-guernsey-21390820 and http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2013/feb/09/bayeux-tapestry-completed-alderney . It appears they captured the style of the original very well.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, The Archer of Mallard Lodge
