Noble Friends,

The Richard III story continues to unfold. A design for his tomb has been revealed by the Richard III society. Sorry, no effigy, but a very tasteful: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-21427369 . The Society isn't saying where the tomb will be located. Do I hear "measured neutrality"?

York continues to lobby for the body. Now they've enlisted school children to stage a letter writing campaign directly to the Queen: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-21427369 . This video piece also includes some views of the tomb of Richard III's son.

BBC History offers Richard III page with less partisan tone: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/people/king_richard_iii .

Now we Scots have our own cause. Some are calling for MacBeth's reputation cleaned up, arguing that he was a successful king (he was, but still ruthless): http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-21421001 . The quip about learning Scottish history by watching BRAVEHEART is priceless.

So the silly season across the Big Puddle goes on, to our continued amusement.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, The Archer of Mallard Lodge
