Oddly enough, Wolsey was archbishop of York so I would think the cathedral there would also have a claim on his body for reburial. This could become a rivalry to, well, rival any animosity between York and Leicester's football teams.
With amusement,
Kateryn Rous

Subject: [MR] Latest Richard III Stuff (with MacBeth Thrown In)
Noble Friends,
The fall-out from the Richard III story continues. This weekend BBC had two new features of interest (or for the amusement) of those of us following this thread.
Cardinal Wolsey, Chancellor to Henry VIII, died in Leicester in 1530 and was buried at Leicester Abbey. He was on his way to face treason charges by Henry for bungling the king's divorce from Catherina of Aragon, and conveniently spared the crown the expense of a headsman. Now folks in Leicester are lobbying to find his body, maybe as a hedge against Richard III ending up in York: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-21476014 . Didn't I promise exhumations would soon be big business?
I had already mentioned a call for MacBeth's reputation to be rehabilitated. Sunday the BBC featured a short video piece, even showing the place where the Scottish king was supposedly executed after losing his final battle in 1057: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21483159 . I love the MacBeth Arms Hotel, but the MacBeth golf hole is priceless. (Just one hole, and not a whole course?)
Stay tuned, for there is surely more to come!
Yours Aye,
Lord Mungo Napier, The Archer of Mallard Lodge
