Noble Friends, Especially Fellow Scots,

Today the BBC has an interesting story and video on David's Tower, a long-lost part of Edinburgh Castle. A lot of really uncool things happened in David's Tower, including murders and imprisonments, but that's the sort of hijinks that so often went on in royal medieval castles. Apparently part of the tower was torn down long ago, though some of the lower floors were just built over and went unnoticed below the more recent parts of the Castle until the 19th century.

Here's the link, including the somewhat creepy video tour: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-20510092 . Late period Scots should pay close attention to the paintings that flash by. There's some good information here on garb for men-at-arms. Not all that different from the English, which was why we Scots wore the saltire patch for identification in battle.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, That Crazy Scot
