Unto Your Majesties Brian and Brianna, Your Highnesses Vlad and Kalisa,
Your Excellencies Geldamar and Etain, the Triton Principal Herald, the
Atlantian College of Heralds, the populace of Atlantia and all who read
this missive:
Greetings from Lord Cian mac Cellacháin hUí Dubhlaich, Gordian Knot
Pursuivant herald, and herald of record for the Baronial Court from the
Feast of the Saints in May, AS 47.
At the celebration of the Feast of the Saints, held in the Barony of
Nottinghill Coill on May 12, 2012, also known as Anno Societatis 47,
Their Excellencies Geldamar and Etain, Baron and Baroness of Nottinghill
Coill, did process into court.
Her Excellency Hidden Mountain, Baroness Adendra, was invited to come
forth and join Baron Geldamar and Baroness Etain in Their court.
Their Excellencies of Nottinghill Coill addressed the populace and
welcomed them warmly, inquiring as to whether or not they had a good
time. The populace was adamant that the even had been fun, with perfect
fighting weather, and many laughs throughout the day.
Their Excellencies then invited Mistress Tannis of Tir-y-don to come
forth, for she wished to address the populace. Mistress Tannis told of
how she was celebrating her 30th anniversary of being elevated to the
Order of the Pelican, and had come up with a novel way of doing so.
During the year, she was going to travel the Kingdom as best as she
could, looking for gentles who perform good service to their local group
as well as the Kingdom. Upon finding such a person, she will present
them with her token, so that everyone will know that at least one
Pelican saw potential in that person’s service to the Society.
Much to the amusement of all those present, she called forth the
Baronial Herald, Lord Cian mac Cellacháin hUí Dublaich. The populace
enjoyed the “deer in the headlights” expression of the herald, and a
very humbled Lord Cian did accept her token with gratitude.
Their Excellencies then called for the Children to come forth, to
receive a toy from the toy box, assuming that they could catch Baron
Lucien. It was no contest. Lucien was run down rather rapidly, and the
children were happy.
The newcomers were invited to stand, and were warmly welcomed by Their
Excellencies and the populace at large.
His Excellency, Count Sinclair, was invited forward to deliver a message
to those assembled. As there is an upcoming “War of Northern
Aggression” being held in October, Count Sinclair brought forth the
excellent news that His Grace Duke Olaf, along with his household and
his company, will be joining forces with the Barony of Nottinghill
Coill. The populace present roared with delight!
Her Excellency, Baroness Elizabeth Canynges the Ravenhaired, Autocrat
for this event, was called forth to address the populace and then
announce the winners of the various competitions held throughout the day.
As Baroness Elizabeth turned to leave after her announcements, Their
Excellencies Nottinghill Coill requested that she stay. It seems that
an injustice had been done, for as big a part of Le Souteneours de
Gloutonnerie as she is, she had not yet been honored in an appropriate
manner. Therefore, Their Excellencies did see fit to induct Baroness
Elizabeth into the Order of the Pewter Spoon, in recognition for her
skill in planning and cooking feasts.
Their Excellencies of Nottinghill Coill then once again addressed the
populace, issuing reminders about the upcoming War in October, with
information about sending tent dimensions to Baroness Delia the
Flammable. When the populace registers for WOW, they need to not only
register with the WOW land agent, but with the Baronial Land Agent,
Baroness Delia.
There is also a War of the Wings sauce competition being held at WOW
this year, sponsored by the Barony of Sacred Stone. There will be a
Baronial sauce competition to be held at the Nottinghill Coill Baronial
Collegium July 14, to determine the Champion to represent the Barony at WOW.
Her Excellency Hidden Mountain did then remind the populace of the
Hidden Mountain Baronial Birthday coming up on June 8-10, and did also
reaffirm that the Barony of Hidden Mountain stands with the Barony of
Nottinghill Coill in the “War of Northern Aggression”.
There being no further business before Them, Their Excellencies did
close their court and process out.
This account is accurate to the best of my knowledge and complete to the
extent of the information available to me.
Set down and submitted by my hand,
I remain,
faithful in service to Crown and Kingdom,
Lord Cian mac Cellacháin hUí Dublaich,
Gordian Knot Pursuivant herald.
