Noble Friends,

While looking for thimbles online, I stumbled onto the Plimoth 
Plantation gift shop site. While most of their stuff is modern, or at 
least 17th century, they offer a fair number of books which might be 
useful to us: http://www.plimoth.com/books-media . There are several 
titles on life in Elizabethan England, a couple on Shakespeare, 
cookbooks which might have recipes that can be backdated to our time, 
and some general books on costumes and firearms which cover our period 
and later eras. There are also some possibilities among the toys and 
houseware sections. And yes, they have ring thimbles too.
