Hi!
The I-81 closure is due to blasting between 10 a.m. and noon daily.
If you are coming through in the evening, it is open. If it is backed
up in the evening, you can take the detour around it (U.S. 460 from
mile marker 137 to 118), which is mostly 4-lane, 55mph road.
But if you are headed through there on the middle of the day Friday,
I'd go the way Glynis said.
~Wenllyan who commutes from exit 137 to exit 109 daily with no issues,
except today when she tried to do it at noon.
