Greetings.  It is almost time for the Blackfox awards…



If you would like to bring any particular newsletter, artwork, article, etc. to my attention for consideration for a Blackfox nomination, please contact me at CeciliaBlytheSCA at gmail.com by May 20, 2011.  While the Local Chronicler Deputy and I are going through the newsletters ourselves, it wouldn’t hurt for any of you to point out anything you deem worthy of a look.  You can reference what issue we need to look at and/or attach an electronic copy of the newsletter in question.  Hard copies can also be mailed (contact information in the regnum).



Anything published between May 1, 2010 and April 30, 2011 is eligible for a Blackfox nomination.  If you need particular information on the categories, please go to http://www.sca.org/officers/chronicler/blackfox-awards.html 



The categories are:

Best Overall Newsletter

Best Layout and Design

Best Artwork

Best Special Issue

Best Special Interest Newsletter

Best Regular Feature

Best Article

Best Poetry or Short Fiction



There is also a catch-all category for those who don’t really fit into the other categories.  I call it the “Honorable Mention.”  This is a good place to recognize a chronicler who resurrected a newsletter or who faced serious logistical issues and still put out a stunning publication. 



Recognition for the winners will be the “right” to use the “Master William Blackfox Award Winner, <category>, A.S. XLV.”  They will also receive a certificate and a token.

All nominees will be listed in the Tournaments Illuminated article and posted on the SCA website under A.S. XLV – which is perpetual.



I will later publish a list of what has been selected for nominations.
