When i joined, way back whenthe primordiald slime was first sentient, courtesy and soial graces were considered an euqal part of any particular noble qualificaions for entrance to the peerage or even interacting be tween anyone else in the SCA. Whether or not you had a dangly or a tin hat, a white blt , a freeon helm, pf flyer shoes under you itlien ren, or wore scrubs because they were at least drwastring pants and a pullover tunic, everyone deserved courtesy and were inpired to return it. If someone came from another kingdom with an award or a pretty that no one recognized, the standard aceptable reaction was.... " Oooooh... What is that? " Not " it ain't fom here so take it off cause we did not say you could have that!" granted there were still a few peoplel who felt it was their job to be rude and hurtful to bolster their own importance but they were uually out numbered and often found that sort of behavior too expensive to repeat too often...you might find yoursle featu
red in a comic book or at least ypur very words!!!!!!! Pople who hav earned recognition and throug mundane circumstances find themselve in another geographical location should not have to also feel put upon by not being able to acknowledge their passed work in order to play. Arent w loosing enough members to the current state of affairs? If a history of WHY will help keep pople working towards a more chivelrous way of handling things like this and keep everyone on the same page... It can only help not hurt.

I believe that those with an elitist fantasy will never be satisfied by SCA or any other group and this is a psychological problem they need to work on and not something for us to encourage or try to feed.
