Subject: [MR] Looking for historical references on medieval oilcloth

I'm trying to research medieval flooring, particularly painted oilcloth or
floorcloth. I've seen vague references to oilcloth being seen in the 14th
century, but no hard references. I have also looked in the Floregium, and
only found one thread, with *no* references. Google has yielded little.
One reference to rushes being replaced with carpets and/or mats (of no
reference) after the Black Death in the late 1300's.

So, I'm turning to the brain collective here. Any help would be deeply
appreciated!

In service,
