[MR] Political appointment

I was told a peer of the society should be able to start a new branch in an untamed world. A peer should be able to visit another kingdom, alone, and represent not only Atlantia well, but the society at large. A peer needs to understand the current events in our kingdom and have the society's best interest at heart. A peer needs to be involved in the system, a part of the entire game, not just their particular skill circle. All of these things are within the scope of politics. Peers are politicians for the society. We represent this game to the world. Whether or not we want to be, we are the poster children for the Society. That makes us politicians. Sometimes our politics don't meld together nicely and we crash and bang, but to be a peer is to do that very thing with grace and intellect. A peerage is definitely a political appointment. If not, we would just have awesome artisans or amazing fighters or tireless workers... What we have are Laurels, Knights (Master at Arms), and Pelicans. The title implies more than simple (or incredible) skill in ones particular field. It implies a true love of this game and a desire to see it improve.
