Ma'am,
Please do not misunderstand the intention of my original reply. My problem is with the rule itself, not the order as an entity. Any negative feelings I harbor as to certain members of said group are as a direct result of the negativity, arrogance, and / or disrespect they displayed on several occasions of this discussion that I have either been party to or witness of. I apologize if you feel my statement was worded too strongly, but trust that it was a response in kind.
As to your other point, the other peerages are designed things other than martial combat, service, a&s, etc., and as such are even more reluctant to recognize the members I am referring to, and for good reason. The knighthood should be for combat, yes, but who says heavy fighting is the only legitimate form of combat? It was certainly not deemed so in period.
Regards,
Lord Karl von Konigsberg
