[MR] opinion on peerage...

since our awards are solely based on the opinion of the crown the view that
it is a political appointment is correct. that can be viewed as a negative
certainly. however, i have faith in the process and the way most monarchs
handle the responsibility and duty of properly recognizing those who are
worthy. sure, the feeling of nepotism exists at times. some monarchs seem
to hand out awards/peerages at alarming rates. but thats my opinion.
others may feel that some monarchs are far too demanding. is either right?
that all depends on who you ask. since there is not a checklist of defined
requirements it becomes the choice of each monarch to define what is
required. corpora sets the base requirements but thats all. its not a
perfect system but it is our system.

i dont speak for my brother who made the comment to you but i feel that the
comment is, at its base, correct.

Subject: [MR] opinion on peerage...

This weekend, I was told by a Knight of Atlantia that "Peerage is a
political appointment."
I realize that I am stubbornly idealistic, but have we reached the point in
our Game that recognition for a job well done is no longer based purely on
merit?
