[MR] Disturbing compliments

In fact many people who have stepped down from kingdom level jobs have told me later that "it's hard to go back to canton level" after being at kingdom level. Of course I disagree completely. I've had 2 kingdom jobs and continue to serve my canton as best as I can especially with lunches and wine and cheese parties at their events etc. In fact I find canton service less stressful and a great break from the stress of formal kingdom level service even though I continue to serve my kingdom with offers of a variety of specific projects. For starters there's less travel expected of you and I'm still in service to Atlantia and SCA.

People think that way because they've seen it said that it's "not gonna happen" and yes I believe it is the state we're in right now and a sad state of affairs.

I also get offended that when a friend who is a lady makes a comment to an event officer about a situation that is a bad idea and is ignored but I as baroness make the same comment to an event officer and am told how wonderful my "new idea" might be.

It's sad but it is the state of affairs we are in and only the individual can change it I'm afraid.

I'd like to be a Pelican one day and I'd like to be a Laurel one day but I'm still very happy to have my court baron. The concepts are not mutually exclusive.
