[MR] Egyptian Personas in the SCA

Roh, I look forward to seeing your entry at WoW.

When I think of what that party in a fantasy writer's backyard in California 40 years ago has grown in to, I am amazed. And very grateful for all the things I've been able to learn and experience in this organization.

Barunin Gisela would be most thoroughly astonished, I'm sure, to have an opportunity to meet such an exotic person not to mention someone from the land of so many Biblical stories! How she would crave the fine cotton cloth the Egyptians had ... but like Queen Elizabeth, she'd likely be afraid to wear it ... such a costly item~!

I welcome your research and you will be welcomed at my pavilion porch any time ... as are all folks of amiable companionship.

Be well

~gise

Thank you everyone for your comments, suggestions, insight, thoughts,

opinions, etc on this subject. The difference between what I am trying

to do and Mr Stormtrooper is that his/her attempt is fantasy. It is

easy to draw a big red box around it. The topic I wish to research is

historical, no debate about it. Unfortunately the BoD isnt as so kind

to give a specific and exact start time as they are for end time....

it is grey. Several different shades of grey in fact. I do not mind

researching something in the grey areas of the sca timeline. And I

don't mind if people are willing to give constructive criticism and

share knowledge that they may possess on the subject. But as of right

now there are very few people who can offer such. That was what I was

looking for. Someone/some group to _help_ me. Thank you to those few

gentles who have tried to do so politely.

For those who have been following this thread...academically or out of

curiosity for Egyptian culture... please check out my A&S display I

plan to submit at War of the Wings. I strive to encourage those who

are willing to research and put themselves out there knowing they will

be judged. I wont say it's easy but I hope that I can set an

example... grey area of SCA timeline or not...that others will feel

the courage to follow.

YIS,

~Roh
