Unto Bryan and Brianna, most esteemed Monarchs of Atlantia, greetings
from Talorgen Hersir, Sea Dragon Herald.
It was my pleasure to herald the court of Her Majesty Brianna at
Midwinters Tale. Herein is my accounting of the awards done that day.
Upon opening court, Lady Maddelena Rondinelli was brought forward and
inducted into the Order of the Coral Branch for her labors at hand
sewing, oftimes garbing the Royalty of this Kingdom. As Her Majesty
was at the time wearing garb provided by Lady Maddelena, this award
seemed quite apropos.
The children of the Realm were then brought forward as has been Their
Majesties' tradition for some time and given toys from the bounty of
the Kingdom.
Her Majesty then requested the presence of the newcomers. Ten gentles
stepped forward and were awarded tokens by the Queen's hand as
mementos of their first event.
Lord Sven Olafssen then came into Her presence. His long work on the
archery range marshalling and arranging shoots was lauded and he was
then inducted into the Order of the Opal.
Brandr feilan inn kyrri was then commanded to come forward. His
service to the Shire of Border Vale Keep and formerly to the Kingdom
of Calontir was highly recommended by several gentles, and Her Majesty
saw fit to raise him to the Nobility with an Award of Arms.
Baroness Tyra Jonsdattir came forward next. She was wearing one of
the marvelous appliqued viking dresses for which she came so highly
recommended to the court. After being commanded to model her work,
she was inducted into the Order of the Coral Branch.
The Kumpania of the Painted Wheel was then invited into court. Their
service in providing background music at many events was noted. The
Kumpania was then awarded the Opal. The members were Rani Dulcinaya
the 'Gypcian, Aysho, Ivar, Katherins, and Vincent D'Orleans.
Duchess Isabel Grimault then came into Her Majesty's presence to
announce the winners of the various competions held that day. I
regret that I did not manage to record the names of those who were
recognized at that time.
Her Majesty then commanded the presence of Lady Aldis Svansdattir.
Her long work for the Shire was commended as well as the care that she
has taken for the newcomers. She was then created a Baroness of the
Court of Atlantia and Granted Arms to go along with it.
After Her Majesty addressed the populace briefly and thanked the Shire
for their hospitality, court was then closed.
This is a true reckoning of the business conducted by Her Majesty at
Midwinters' Tale by my witness. Any errors or omissions are my own
and should be brought to my attention so that I may correct the
record.
I am still researching modern names for some of the recipients and
will provide that information to Glynis Finsterwald for the Order of
Precedence as soon as it is available.
