[MR] applique

Greetings good cousins, and especially those who are knowledgeable of
appliqué.  The device is to be appliquéd onto the background, and it has
internal detailing as well. Do I do the interior details first, then iron
the whole onto the background, and just appliqué the edges?  Or do  I
appliqué the whole thing directly on the background, thus having the
interior bits also anchoring the device to the background?  Thanks, Ros the
