Unto the good gentles of Fair Atlantia,
Greetings and good evening to you all.
I would like to take a few moments of your time to touch upon a somewhat difficult subject.
It has been brought to my attention that this past weekend at Kingdom 12th Night, a rather unhappy cicumstance occurred.
After the feast, someone made derogatory comments regarding the feast while standing in the kitchen area and in fact while standing close to the person who had made the food in question.
This caused a great deal of distress and hurt to the gentle involved.
I would like to remind everyone that when you attend a feast there are a number of people who work very hard, generally for more than one day to make the feast that is set before you. By the end of the event they are exhausted and do not need something like this to happen to them.
There is the planning, research, shopping, transport, preparation, plating and serving, not to mention the cleanup afterwards.
We are an organization that prides itself on being grounded in certain precepts, among them Honor and Courtesy.
Please keep these values in mind when you next attend an event. If you have criticisms that you feel must be uttered, please do so privately.
On one final note, I would like all of you to consider how difficult it is to plan a menu of multiple dishes that all need to please the tastes, palates and preferences of 200 - 300 people. How well do you think you would do?
Try to take a moment at every event you attend to say something positive about your experience of the day to someone on the staff. It is far better to be remembered for that.
In service to Atlantia and the Dream,
HRH Seonaid
