We are in the last week before this great event and I wanted to remind you of a few things, before you pack your vehicle and travel to the lovely event site:

1) If you have not paid your reservations yet, today is the last day to get the check in the mail in order for our reservationist to receive it by Thursday (since he plans to be on-site on Friday with no access to the mail). After today, please just plan to troll in on Friday night or Saturday morning and pay at the gate.

2) There are several A&S competitions: Tempore Atlanitia ( 1492-1600); a Medallion Competition (sponsored by the Kingdom Seneschal); a Backlog Scroll competition (sponsored by Baroness Tegan de Moreton, Clerk of the Signet, Atlantia); a youth A&S competition (sponsored by me!); an A&S competition "What the Vikings may have pillaged or plundered - (Please no livestock or human servants); a table decorating contest - You may have candles but they must be enclosed in either a lantern or glass lamp that is higher than the wick. No open flames; and last, but certainly not least, the Royal Bardic Competition. Lots of fun for all!

3) We will be having several games of skill (with fighting overtones) for those so inclined: pillows and bells, bottle jousting, barrier fighting (heavy), table top duels (dagger) and jenga fighting (rapier); so bring your armor and plan to enjoy. If the weather is kind, we will do most of these outside along with some games of prowess and strength thrown in. There will be a very nice prize for the person who accomplishes the greatest number of wins.

4) There are several vigils planned, households taking squires/proteges/apprentices and basically a good time for all. The site is wet, however, please plan to dispose of your glass bottles off-site. Bring in your coolers and take out your dead in the same!

5) A lovely feast is planned so please bring your feast gear and plan to share some quality time with your friends and loved ones.

This will be the perfect event to plan your calendar for the coming year. The site is on the water and has a lovely patio outisde in which to sit and contemplate the fighting season, your next big A&S project, or plan your group's bid for an upcoming Kingdom event, like University or Fall Crown Tournament. Also, it is never to early to start planning for next year's 12th Night! Just a hint!

See you in a few days. Travel safely, bring your garb, armor, A&S, and feast gear.

YIS,
Baroness Katharine de la Vache
