I totally agree with Mistress Rhianon.
Shunning and stunning with words and actions only perpetuates the problem.
 HRH did clearly state that she  was hoping this would help us all consider our words and deeds and  remember that courtesy was one of the founding ideals.
I have been in a long time. The original ideals  have taken a beating from time to time but they still hold. 
We are all nobility because of the way we behave and care for each other , not because any of us is considered "above " any of the rest of us.IF that is  a dream then I sign my self

Not being privy to the exact statements made, I think we have not the
right to act as judge and jury of the person in question.  I am not
doubting Her Highnesses' comments or assessment of the situation, 
but rather saying that unless we ourselves
were present, and know exactly what was said, then it is just as wrong

Perhaps, they didn't realize the remarks would be considered disparaging.
Once, I commented that I didn't like pork and don't generally eat it,
as I passed on that day's pork dish.  Imagine my surprise to be told
later that I had 'trashed' the feast.  Would you consider my remark
disparaging?  I didn't, but someone did.  So, with no more information
than 'she trashed the feast', would you take me out to burn my ears
off?  And then, lambast me in a public forum, so that others could
judge me without all the facts?

How, dear cousin, is that any different from the person who made the
alleged disparaging remarks at 12th Night? Perhaps, having had this brought 
to them, they are horribly abashed already, not having intended offense. 
 
I believe Her Highness' point in bringing this before us, was not to
create a public shunning of said individual, but rather, to remind 
folks to be kinder and more generous of spirit
and more appreciative of those who work so hard to bring to us this
recreation of the medieval meal (and other aspects of our events).
