Indeed Merry Rose DOES have a bad reputation in other kingdoms. Which is not what should be. I've so often gotten the "why ever do you read that trash?"  look or query that I no longer admit publicly at Pennsic or other events that I look at the site.
 
I do read occasionally, just to see what is going on. Mostly I dump it without reading. 
 
Only once have I posted. I was so vilified by people who should know better that until now I have not posted again. Incidentally, their information was wrong. 
 
I agree that the site would be much more pleasant if the behavior matched the original SCA Ideals.
 
I took out all the previous discussion because emails should be trimmed.
