Not to abuse the bandwidth, but
I feel that background checks don't cover everything. I sometimes wonder if more males would volunteer to mentors youth if not for the reminders of the risk in the news. Occasionally, some guy is falsely accused and even if he is later found innocent he is ruined. Financially, socially, marriage, etc. His name is Mudd and he is fortunate to still be amoung the living. And all that anyone remembers is that he was associated with something creepy. So I don't believe its unreasonable for many men to decide its simply not worth the risk.
With that in mind, is there a published format of all these "two-deep" rules, etc? Or something we can borrow from the Scouts? It would be nice to have something our leaders could read over. It seems a better approach to teach our Mentors to never put themselves in that position. We need to protect the children, but we also need to protect our brothers and sisters.
Cheers
