I just had an email conversation with the Society Earl Marshal.  He is not
aware of any ban on the blades and has issued no such missive.

Wait and see what happens post-Pennsic. Don't go running out buying new blades
just yet. I for one wouldn't go spending hundreds of dollars for new stuff
based solely on an emergency and possibly temporary ban during Pennsic.
