not unfounded.  theses blades are currently banned in trimaris by the
kingdom earl marshal (not by the deputy earl marshal for rapier) because of
two blades breaking (one in five pieces the other in three or so was it
reported).  the sem has issued a statement that this was not a society wide
ban.  the original email i forwarded, and stated i could neither confirm it
or its validity, simply stated that all blades by this manufacturer were
banned because of failures at pennsic.  it did not indicate it was a
trimarian ban or who banned them which is why i said i could not confirm it.
i only mention this because i have received a few rather nasty emails for my
apparently inappropriate concern.

I've been in touch with Nataliia (the East Kingdom Marshal of Fence) at
Pennsic. There is NO ban on Hanwai blades. This rumor is totally unfounded.
