<<< We also have the well/electricity issue, we just put out clean
drywall buckets and collect rainwater to use in the toilet. I always
mean to get a rain barrel set up but never manage to do so. >>>

I recently picked up a pair of plastic 55 gallon drums that had food-
grade items in them for $20 each. The going price seems to be around
$15 to $35. With just a few more dollars of miscellaneous hardware,
which many folks may already have at home, you can make a rain
collection barrel.

Since many folks in the SCA are adept at working with their hands and
have the tools already, this might be the way to go. It certainly
beats the $85 to the over $100 I've seen for the commercial units.

I'm using the two drums I have to make rotating compost units, getting
tired of trying to turn over the compost by hand. But I'm considering
making rain collection barrels in the future. Particularly since we
are now into stage 2 water conservation requirements, here.
